Women?s Tennis Completes Perfect Weekend With Victory Over Butler

The Murray State women's tennis team made it a clean sweep in it's weekend trip to the state of Indiana as the Racers handed Butler a 4-3 defeat Sunday afternoon in Indianapolis. The victory improved MSU to 3-1 on the season.

The Racers continued their strong play in doubles action as the top duo of Angela McGahee and Anne Pennington remained perfect on the season with an 8-4 victory. Lynsey Bochenek and Cassidy Cunitz teamed up for an 8-4 victory at the No. 3 spot to secure the doubles point and give MSU the early 1-0 advantage.

The Bulldogs were able to tie the match at two after picking up a pair of singles victories at No.3 and No. 4 singles. Pennington picked up her first victory at No. 1 singles with a 6-3, 6-0 victory over Natali Jaimes.

Lyndsay Ottosen surged the Racers into the lead with a 6-0, 6-0 victory at No. 6 singles. Cunitz clinched the match for the Racers with a 6-0, 7-5 victory at No. 5.

The Racers return to the court on Feb. 27 against Kennesaw State in Atlanta, Ga.
