
Men Finish 6th, Women 8th at OVC Championship

The Murray State men's and women's cross country teams wrapped up their 2019 season, Saturday morning at the OVC Championship in Edwardsville, Illinois. The men finished sixth while the women came in eighth.
The men's sixth-place finish was the best for the men since 2015 when they also finished sixth. Caleb Kawasaki was the top individual finisher for the Racers as placed 18th with a time of 25:34.7. Zach Balleau followed with a 37th-place finish with a time of 26:19.6.
Meyer Makemson (27:18.4), Christian Slone (27:24.3), and Zan McClelland (27:34.2) rounded out the scoring as they all finished in the top-60 in 53rd, 55th, and 59th, respectively.
For the women, Emma Graf was the top finisher for the Racers as she finished 26th with a time of 18:57.5. Emma Creviston and Dani Wright followed with times of 19:18.9 and 19:21.9, respectively to finish 40th and 44th.
Katelyn Gilbert placed 53rd with a time of 19:44.7 while Morgan Vosler finished 56th to wrap up the scoring for the Racers with a time of 19:56.0.
Eastern Kentucky continued their dominant stretch in the OVC, winning both races. The Racers did finish ahead of Austin Peay in each race meaning MSU picks up six points in the First Financial Bank Battle of the Border.
