Racers Split Weekend Matchups, Tie Air Rifle Record

Murray State rifle dropped their Saturday matchup with Memphis before firing a season high on Sunday
Murray State rifle split a pair of weekend matchups with Memphis and Jacksonville State, firing a season-high 4727 aggregate score and tying a program record 2380 in air rifle against JSU.Â
2/10 vs. Memphis
On Saturday in their matchup with the Tigers, Murray State fired a 4697 aggregate total to drop a tight contest with Memphis shooting a 4710.
Matias Kiuru led all athletes with a 1184 (589 SB, 595 AR) with Allison Henry also finishing in the top five individually with a 1177 (583 SB, 594 AR). Kiuru had the top smallbore score of the day while finishing third in the air rifle standings.Â
2/11 vs. Jacksonville State
The Racers bounced back in a big way on Sunday with one of the best performances in program history, tying the program air rifle record with a 2380 and a 4727 overall to defeat JSU 4727-4682.Â
The Racers had the top four individual finishers of the day with Matias Kiuru once again leading the way with a 1184 (590 SB, 594 AR). Alok Joarder followed just behind with a 1183 (587 SB, 596 AR) while Allison Henry finished with a 1181 (587 SB, 594 AR). John Blanton rounded out the quartet with a 1176 total ( 583 SB, 593 AR).Â
Scott Patterson matched his personal record in Air Rifle with a 597 to match the highest score of the day.
The Racers now turn their sights to the NCAA qualifier at Pat Spurgin Rifle Range on Saturday.
