Racers Tie School Record, Place Second in Withrow Invitational

The Murray State Racers recorded scores of 2345 in small bore and 2380 in air rifle for an aggregate of 4725 in Sunday morning's Withrow Invitation in Murray, Ky.

John Blanton was the Racers' top shooter, placing fourth overall. The senior fired a 585 in smallbore and a personal-best 599 in air rifle to take the top spot.

"The team did good, practice translated to the match well this week," said Blanton. "The PR in air felt rewarding, hard work has been paying off."

Carlotta Salafia took fifth overall with an aggregate of 1183. The Pezzana, Italy native fired a 587 in smallbore and a 596 in air rifle.

Zach Jackson rounded out the top ten for the Navy & Gold, placing ninth overall with a season-high aggregate of 1180. The senior posted a career-high of 591 in air rifle and a season-high of 589 in smallbore.

Grace Foley and Isabelle Gratz posted season highs as well, with Foley shooting a 589 in air rifle and Gratz putting up a 586 in smallbore.

Emma Rhode of Nebraska was the top overall shooter with an 1193 aggregate. Kentucky finished atop the team standings with a 4731 aggregate.
