The Murray State Cross Country men’s team ran the season opener in Cape Girardeau at the Osage Center

Dylan Ellis was the top finisher for the Murray State Men's Cross Country team with a spot in 15^th place at the Redhawk Invitational, staged at the Osage Center and hosted by Southeast Missouri State in Cape Girardeau.

Ellis posted a time of 15:41 in the 5K distance, while the Racers had a 19^th place showing by Nick Schmitz (15:50) and a 20^th place showing by Gabe Russell (15:51).

The Racers placed eighth, ahead of Missouri Baptist, Lindenwood and Kaskaskia.

Next up for the Racers is the Oscar Moore Invitational (Sept. 19) at the Southern Illinois campus course.
