MURRAY – Silver Waves Media announced its eighth annual compilation of the "100 Most Impactful Mid-Major Assistant Coaches" Monday, with Murray State men's basketball Assistant Coach Cullen Neal featured on the list.

Neal joined head coach Ryan Miller's staff prior to the 2025-26 season after five years of coaching experience in the collegiate ranks with stops at Nevada, Rice and Hawaii. In his first season with the Racers, Neal was a part of a 20-13 season with a 12-8 mark in Missouri Valley Conference play and a third-place finish in the league standings, the program's best MVC regular-season finish and most conference wins since joining the league. The Racers also earned a postseason berth in the National Invitation Tournament (NIT). Offensively, Murray State developed into one of the most productive teams in the country, averaging 83.1 points per game while ranking among the nation's top teams in offensive efficiency.
The coaches selected to the list continue to make an impact across college basketball through recruiting, player development, game preparation, relationship building, and shaping the culture and success of their programs. Their work plays a major role both on and off the court while helping develop the next generation of players.
