Racers Fire 4726 in NCAA Qualifier

Murray State defeats UT Martin
Murray State Rifle defeated UT Martin 4726 to 4612 in an NCAA Qualifier at the Pat Spurgin Rifle Range on Saturday in Murray, Kentucky.
The Racers posted scores of 2349 in smallbore and 2377 in air rifle with 324 centers, while the Skyhawks fired 2278 in smallbore and 2334 in air rifle with 221 centers.Â
Despite several strong individual efforts, today's result was not enough to propel the Racers into the NCAA Championships.Â
Carlotta Salafia placed first individually and in smallbore with an aggregate of 1189 and scores of 594 and 595 in smallbore and air rifle. Caroline Martin placed first in air rifle with a 596 and fourth in smallbore with a 582, good for third individually with her aggregate of 1178 and 79 centers.   Â
Freshman Abby Ballard placed second individually with scores of 582 in smallbore and 596 in air rifle for an aggregate of 1178 with 82 centers. Lea Soulé placed fourth with an 1173 aggregate, and Emma Lawrence rounded out the top five with an 1170. Â
Mallory Johnson, Isabelle Gratz, Grace Foley, and Ainsley McFarland all placed inside the top ten. Â
