Racers Clinch Share of Second Straight Valley Title

Murray State women's basketball defeated Indiana State in dominating fashion to clinch at least a share of the MVC crown
Halli Poock scored 27 points as Murray State dismantled Indiana State 115-67 on Thursday night, clinching at least a share of the Missouri Valley Conference regular-season title. The victory marks the second consecutive MVC crown for the Racers.
Murray State (25-3, 16-1 MVC) used an explosive 39-point third quarter to turn a 17-point halftime lead into a rout at the CFSB Center. The Racers' high-octane offense shot 56 percent from the floor and connected on 13 3-pointers. Poock led the way, shooting 10-of-18 from the field, while Haven Ford added 21 points and seven rebounds. Keslyn Secrist contributed 20 points, and Sharnecce Currie-Jelks anchored the interior with 12 points and 11 rebounds for her nation leading 21st double-double of the season.
The Racers took a 27-18 lead in the first quarter and extended the lead to 17 by the half. The Racers blew the game open in the third period, shooting a blistering 80 percent (16-of-20) from the field to outscore the Sycamores 39-12. Braxcynn Baker provided a significant spark off the bench with 17 points, including four 3-pointers.
Indiana State (9-19, 5-13) was led by Clemisha Prackett, who recorded 21 points and 18 rebounds. Da'Naria Washington added 16 points for the Sycamores. Murray State excelled in transition, outscoring Indiana State 15-5 in fast-break points and capitalizing on turnovers for 20 points. The Racers now look to secure the title outright in their regular-season home finale against Evansville.
