Racers Fall at Bradley in Season Finale

The Racers head to Arch Madness next week in St. Louis looking for postseason glory
The Murray State Racers dropped an 87-78 loss in the regular season finale to the Bradley Braves at Carver Arena in Peoria, Illinois.

The Racers finish their fourth season in the Missouri Valley Conference at 12-8 and head into next week's State Farm Arch Madness – MVC Tournament with a mark of 20-11 overall. MSU's seed and first game assignment will be decided by Sunday evening.
The announcement of the 2026 Arch Madness bracket comes Monday morning at 9 a.m.

Romon Domon led the Racers with 20 points on 11-of-16 from the free throw line, while Fred King tossed in 17 points on 6-of-10 from the field. Javon Jackson's 12 points gave MSU three in double-figure scoring, as the game saw nine different Racers score in the game.

In the first half, the Racers used a 12-2 run to get the lead at 13:25 after the first of two 3-pointers from King and held it until the 34-second mark. The half ended with the Braves in front 34-33, after JJ Traynor hit a three with 19 seconds on the clock and Bradley's Alex Huibregtse matched it with three seconds left to put the Braves in front 34-33 at the halftime intermission.

The second half began as a slog after the two teams combined to score the first 15 points from the free throw line. But the Racers remained close when Mathis Courbon nailed a 3-pointer to cut the Braves lead to four points with 15:12 left.
The Racers could not get the game into a one-possession situation and never had the ball with a chance to tie.

- With the postseason coming, the Racers had their most conference wins in four seasons in the MVC and a 20 wins overall, their best total in the last four seasons,
- Domon now has six games this season of 10 or more free throw attempts as he went 11-of-16 today.
- Fred King hit two 3-pointers in the first half, his career high.
- Fred King was averaging 8.4 rebounds per game and has been the MVC leader the entire season.
- If King can stay in the lead, he'll become the first Racer to lead in conference rebounding since Ed Daniel led the Ohio Valley Conference with an average of 10.0 in the 2012-13 season.
- King had one blocked shot today and has 59 for the season as he has moved into the top-10 for a single season in program history.
