Premium suites, expanded press box and enhanced fan amenities highlight next transformational investment in Racer Baseball
Murray State Athletics has officially broken ground on Phase 3 of the continued transformation of Johnny Reagan Field at Taylor Family Park, bringing a new collection of premium seating and fan-focused amenities to the home of Racer Baseball.
Â
The next phase of development will feature two new buildings, new premium suites, a new club space, new concessions stand activation and on-site restroom facilities, further modernizing the venue while creating an elevated experience for student-athletes, coaches, fans, investors, corporate partners and visitors.
Â
"We are excited about the continued evolution of Johnny Reagan Field at Taylor Family Park and what these enhancements will mean for the entire Murray State community," President Dr. Ron Patterson said. "This project creates new opportunities for our students and their families, alumni, and fans to gather and experience the pride and energy that make our University so special. We are deeply appreciative of the Taylor Family and their continued investment in Murray State."
Â
"Our family has been incredibly proud to watch the continued growth of Murray State Athletics, and these new enhancements represent another exciting step in that journey for our community," David Taylor said. "We are grateful for the opportunity to continue supporting the Racers and remain fully committed to the vision being advanced by President Dr. Ron Patterson, Vice President and Director of Athletics Nico Yantko and the entire Murray State community."
Â
Â
A centerpiece of the project will be the addition of premium suites, introducing a new hospitality experience for Racer Baseball supporters and creating additional opportunities for donor engagement and corporate entertainment.
Â
"We have been intentional about developing Johnny Reagan Field at Taylor Family Park into a premier destination that reflects the tremendous momentum and championship aspirations surrounding Murray State Baseball," Vice President & Director of Athletics Nico Yantko said. "These significant enhancements introduce crucial revenue-generating opportunities that will provide sustainable resources to reinvest directly into our student-athletes and the future of Racer Athletics. We are incredibly grateful to the Taylor Family for their continued generosity, leadership and belief in our vision, as their transformational support has been instrumental in helping us build a first-class home for Racer Baseball."
Â
New concessions and restroom facilities will complement the premium additions and address key game-day amenities as Murray State continues to accommodate increased interest and attendance surrounding the baseball program after breaking numerous attendance records last year.
Â
The project will also transform the arrival experience at Johnny Reagan Field at Taylor Family Park with new entrances featuring signature archways and enhanced Racer branding throughout the facility. Additional branded activations will celebrate the identity and tradition of Murray State Baseball while creating a distinctive sense of place from the moment fans enter the ballpark.
Â
"Our student-athletes see the commitment being made to this program every day, and these enhancements will create another tremendous recruiting tool while giving our fans an even better environment to support the Racers," head baseball coach Dan Skirka said. "We are incredibly excited to see this next phase come to life and deeply appreciative for the Taylor Family, our University and Athletics administration, and everyone who continues to invest in the future of Racer Baseball."
Â
Â
The enhanced entrances will serve as another defining feature. Architectural archways, signage and additional branded elements will establish a stronger visual identity for Taylor Family Park and create memorable arrival points for fans, recruits and visitors.
Â
Earlier this year, the department completed Phase 1 of the Johnny Reagan Field at Taylor Family Park renovation that included the installation of new turf, a new scoreboard, The Murray Bank videoboard in right field and more.
Â
Murray State Athletics also announced plans on Phase 2 of the facility overhaul to begin construction of the Jim & Sue Cash Baseball Clubhouse, a more than 3,000-square foot baseball facility that features a new locker room, player lounge, team meeting room, and training room right behind the right field wall at Johnny Reagan Field.
Â
Additional details regarding the project, including construction timelines, premium seating opportunities and completion dates, will be announced at a later date.
