The Murray State University Athletics Hall of Fame is open to former MSU student-athletes, coaches and administrators who have distinguished themselves during their careers with the Racers.

1. Student-Athletes may be nominated based on their Murray State University athletic achievements, on the field of play and academically.
2. A strong consideration will be given to those student-athletes who graduated from Murray State, but it is not required.Â
3. Student-athletes will be eligible for consideration five years after they finished playing at MSU.
5. Demonstrated outstanding performance and achievements. Brought exceptional distinction to the individual and/or Murray State University during their playing career.
6. Demonstrated outstanding performance and achievements after the student-athlete has exited from Murray State University.

Current or former Murray State University Coaches or Athletics Administrators may be nominated for their outstanding contribution to Murray State University athletics. Outstanding career as a coach or administrator that has brought exceptional distinction to the individual and athletics department during their active employment at and or following employment at MSU. Number of years of service and other considerations will be at the discretion of the Hall of Fame Committee.

The MSU Hall of Distinction was a sub-category placed under the umbrella of the Murray State Hall of Fame in 2000. The category is open to individuals who have contributed monetarily, spiritually, educationally, and in any other manner which is not covered by student-athletes, coaches or athletic administrators.  The Hall of Distinction is meant for those people that don't qualify using the Hall of Fame qualifications.
