Howson Places 9th At Ole Miss

RESULTS
Murray State's Delaney Howson came home with a ninth-place finish and the Racer women's golf team placed 16th at the Ole Miss Rebel Intercollegiate at Ole Miss Golf Course in Oxford, Miss.,
Howson continued her good play this spring with a ninth-place showing in a strong field of 96 competitors with rounds of 73-75-70=218. Her final round featured four birdies to card a 2-under-par 70.
MSU's final score of 931 was tied with Colorado State and a shot ahead of Memphis.
Due to inclement weather, the tournament was finished Saturday with 36 holes to beat Sunday rain.
GRU Augusta was the champion at 871, 7-over-par. Kennesaw State was the runner-up with an 874, while Tulane and Texas State tied for third place with scores of 876.
Other Racer scores included Jacklyn Van Meter in 76th place after she fired rounds of 79-79-76=234 while Sophie Hillier carded scores of 78-80-80=238 for a spot in 83rd place. Abbi Stamper placed 91st with scores of 88-78-80=246. Sydney Trimble rounded out team play a spot in 92nd place with scores of 83-81-83=247.
Other team scores include: East Tennessee St. (880), Tennessee (881), Kentucky (883), Harvard (885), Furman (890), Mississippi (892), Coastal Carolina (892), Samford (896), Notre Dame (904), Southern Mississippi (904), South Florida (910), Colorado State (931) and Memphis (932).
The Ole Miss Golf Course played to a par of 72 and 6,313 yards.
The Racers will be back in action with multiple events next weekend. Saturday (April 12) the Racers will face OVC competitors Belmont and Austin Peay at the Highlands Golf Course in Huntsville, Ala. In a dual match Sunday (April 13) Murray State will take on Southern Illinois at Dalhousie Golf Club in Cape Girardeau, Mo. Each event will consist of one round of 18 holes.
