Murray State women's basketball team continues its home stand Saturday when they face Belmont at 5 p.m. at the CFSB Center. While the Bruins hold a 7-2 advantage over the Racers, the two wins for Murray State come at home.

Thursday night was a heartbreaking 72-76 loss to the Lady Tigers of Tennessee State at the Bank. Three Racers scored in double-digits, led by Ke'Shunan James who put up 19 points. Olivia Cunningham added 18 and Keiona Kirby 16. Kyra Gulledge led MSU with eight rebounds, while the team grabbed down 43 boards total. The Racers held the Lady Tigers to 35.7-percent from the floor, while shooting 35.6-percent themselves. Netanya Jackson tied her career-high five blocks.

Murray State remains in NCAA and OVC rankings, starting with being first in the conference and third in the NCAA in defensive rebounds per game (32). MSU is ranked first (OVC) and 32nd (NCAA) with a 75.2 scoring offense. The Racers score 8.2 three-point field goals per game, which rank amongst the top of the conference and 15th in the NCAA.

Belmont holds a 3-game winning streak against Murray State going into the matchup. The Bruins fell Thursday night 72-59 to Austin Peay. Jordyn Luffman-Hartsfield led the team with 12 points, while Frankie Joubran led with six rebounds. While the Bruins shot 31.3-percent from the floor, they forced 15 turnovers which they turned into 15 points. They were outrebounded by one, but was able to get 33 points from their bench players. Unfortunately, the Lady Govs were able to get shots to fall and shot 45.2-percent from the floor.
