Murray State women's basketball team continues their conference road stretch at Eastern Illinois Wednesday at 6 p.m. The Racers have played on Jan. 28th 10 times in program history; they are 5-5 on that date.

MSU ranks third in the NCAA in defensive rebounds per game with 31. The team ranks in the top 50 in two other categories, first with three-point field goals per game where they rank 33rd with 7.6. They average 72.9 scoring offense which ranks 47th in the NCAA. Murray State enters the game ranked first in four categories in the OVC. With 31 defensive rebounds per game, they top the defensive rebounds per game category. Their field-goal percentage defense is 38.6-percent, lowest in all the OVC. MSU averages 72.9 points per game, which is 1.5 points higher than anyone in the conference. Their 7.6 three-point field goals per game give the Racers a leg up over the rest of the conference.

After allowing SIUE to score 42 points in the first half, Murray State was unable to overcome the deficit and fell 78-52 at the Vadalabene Center in Edwardsville, Illinois. Murray State began the game with the best rebounding offense in the Ohio Valley Conference averaging 45.7 per game, while SIUE began with the best rebounding defense in the OVC averaging 35.8 per game. Coming into the game, SIUE was hitting 74.5-percent from the free-throw line. They hit 21.0-percent from the charity stripe against the Racers. Jashae Lee led the Racers with 11 points, in only 16 minutes of play. Keiona Kirby and Netanya Jackson added 10 points each. Kyra Gulledge grabbed nine rebounds, while Jackson was able to get eight. Olivia Cunningham was only one assist short of her career-high with 10.

Murray State holds a 25-17 advantage of the Panthers. However, EIU comes into the game with a five-game win streak at home against MSU. Eastern Illinois comes into the matchup first in the OVC in blocked shots averaging 4.6 per game.

Despite having four student-athletes notch double-digits, the Panthers fell 66-63 at Lantz Arena. Bh'rea Griffin scored a team-high 12 points, while also dishing out six assists. Sabina Oroszova, Shakita Cox, and Erica Brown all scored 11 points in the close loss. Oroszova notched a double-double when she pulled down 11 rebounds. The team shot 41.3-percent from the floor. Both Eastern Illinois and Austin Peay committed 10 turnovers and had seven team steals. The Panthers outrebounded the Lady Govs by three.Oroszova ranks 15th in the NCAA with her 11 double-doubles on the season.
