The Murray State women return home to the CFSB Center for the first time after three straight road contests. The Racers look to snap their current four-game skid. MSU is 2-1 at "The Bank" this season during OVC play and 4-3 overall and have won three of the last four at home.
Last time out, the Racers lost a hard-fought, back-and-forth battle at Eastern Kentucky on Wednesday, 72-60. LeAsia Wright and Ke'Shunan James led MSU in scoring in the loss with 17 and 16 points, respectively. Daniella Pisano added a career-best four assists against the Colonels.
The Cougars feature the top scorer in the OVC and the Preseason Player of the Year in Shronda Butts. Butts is averaging 20.8 points per game on the season and 24 per during league play. Butts also leads the team and is top-10 in the league averaging 4.3 assists per contest. Gwen Adams is the other Cougar averaging in double figures in 2015-16 at 11.1 points per game.
SIUE is third in the league in scoring offense averaging nearly 77 points per game as a team. Although the Cougars are 7-1 at home this season, they are 4-8 this year away from the Vadalabene Center. SIUE is led by Head Coach Paula Buscher who is in her fourth season.
Saturday's game will also be a doubleheader with the MSU men's squad as they will host the Cougars as well.
