Three In A Row - Racers Run Past SEMO

The Murray State Racers notched a season-long win streak Saturday with an 80-61 victory over the Southeast Missouri State Redhawks at the CFSB Center in Murray, Ky.

The Racers improved to 10-14 and 6-7 in the Ohio Valley Conference, while the Redhawks fell to 14-12 and 7-6.

Ke'Shunan James led the way with 18 points, with 11 coming in the first quarter, while Abria Gulledge scored 14. MSU got 12 points each from Jasmine Borders and Bianca Babic.

MSU's depth was in full display as eight different players reached the scoring column.

In the first quarter, the Racers led 11-5 at the 6:34 mark after a pair of James 3-point baskets. Jasmine Borders hit a pair from the free throw line for an 18-9 lead. The quarter ended with the Racers ahead 24-21. MSU burned the nets in the second quarter to the tune of 56 percent (9-of-13) to win the period 23-10 and lead 47-31 at the halftime intermission. Abira Gulledge hit a 3-point at the buzzer of the first half.

MSU hit 13-of-29 from the 3-point line with Gulledge and James each hitting three apiece.

MSU held tight in the second half and rode a great performance to their third-straight win.

The Racers hit the road Wednesday for a game in Charleston to take on the Eastern Illinois Panthers.Â
