
Racers Compete at SIUE John Flamer Invite

The Murray State men's and women's cross country teams were back in action, Friday evening at the SIUE John Flamer Invite. Both teams finished third on the course that will host the 2019 OVC Championship.
On the men's side, Caleb Kawasaki was the top finisher for MSU, finishing fourth overall with a personal-best 8K time of 26:06.8. Meyer Makemson finished 20th overall with a time of 27:26.3 while Zan McClelland finished 22nd at 27:46.4. Zach Balleau and Robert Gibson rounded out the top five with times of 27.46.6 and 27:57.9 to finished 24th and 25th, respectively. Christian Slone and Jordan Higgins also ran personal records in the race with times of 28:08.0 and 28:12.1.
For the women, Emma Graf led the way with a time of 18:58.7 to finish sixth overall. Dani Wright and Morgan Vosler were second and third for the Racers with times of 20:05.01 and 20:20.6, respectively, to finish 17th and 18th overall. Hilary McAdam finished 20th with a time of 20:27.21 and Kristin Dent placed 22nd with a time of 20:32.8 to round out the Racers' top five. Sophie Grogan also had a strong race as she ran a personal best time of 21:33.4.
The Racers will return to action in two weeks when they compete at the Live in Lou Cross Country Classic in Louisville on October 5th.
