The Murray State Women's Basketball Team is set to host their third Missouri Valley Conference game against Illinois State, Saturday.

The Racers are coming off a 99-52 win over Bradley where Head Coach Rechelle Turner won her 100th career victory.

A Missouri Valley Conference quarterfinals rematch, the Racers lost their previous meeting 73-75 in the second round of the Hoops in the Heartland.

Notes

This will be the sixth meeting between the Racers and the Redbirds and only the second time the MSU is hosting Illinois State since 1976.
Murray State are on a eight-game winning streak and are coming off a 90-62 win over Valparaiso.
MSU enters the game with the second highest scoring offense in the nation with 94.3 points per game. They are just behind LSU's 94.9 point-per-game average.
The Racers lead the nation in bench points with 42.8 points per game.
Katelyn Young is second in the MVC in points per game with 18.9.
Young posted 15 points, seven rebounds and five assists against Bradley and was named MVC Player of the Night.
Ava Learn is the most efficient shooter in the league with a .612 field goal percentage while averaging 13 points per game.
Briley Pena has a .481 three-point shooting percentage. She is second in the league with 2.3 three-point field goal per game.
Rechelle Turner enters her seventh season after guiding the Racers through their inaugural MVC season.

Scouting Ilinois State

Illinois State is picked to place third in the MVC Preseason Polls after winning the 2022-23 MVC Regular Season title.
They are currently 4-8 and 1-1 in conference play after beating Bradley 78-74 in their conference-opener but falling 52-64 at Belmont.
The Redbirds are led by DeAnna Wilson (14.5ppg) and Maya Wong (13.9ppg) in offense who has racked a combined number of 326 points this season.
On the board, Kate Bullman leads the Birds with 106 rebounds (8.8 per game).

What a Racer Win Means?

The Races will will take their 9th straight win and improve to a 10-2 record while remaining unbeaten at home.
Murray State will remain the winningest team in the MVC with a 3-0 conference record.
Head Coach Rechelle Turner will take her 101th career win.
