The MVC Scholar-Athlete Teams provide recognitions for student-athletes’ accomplishments on the field and in the classroom.
Mary Hardy, Sydney Etter and Tori Schrimpf received Missouri Valley Conference Scholar-Athlete honors, the league office announced Thursday morning. Hardy and Etter were both tabbed First Team Scholar-Athletes and Schrimpf a Third Team Scholar-Athlete.
Hardy, a junior from Ballwin, Missouri, was one of Murray State's four team captains for the 2024 season, leading the Racers with seven goals on the year. She currently holds a perfect 4.0 GPA in Civil and Sustainability Engineering.
Hardy has been a First Team All-Conference selection for two-straight years, along with being named to the All-Freshman Team in 2022. She was the only player on the MSU roster to record multiple game-winners and tallied a pair of multi-goal games.
Etter, a native of Mascoutah, Illinois, started in all 18 matches for the Racers. She was named Third Team All-MVC this season, recording a career-high .485 shot percentage and tied her career high with four goals.
She also holds a perfect 4.0 pursuing a degree in Organizational Communication.
Schrimpf hails from Alton, Illinois and carries a 4.0 in Construction Management. A junior who was also named a team captain alongside Hardy, Schrimpf started in all 18 matches recording 1,462 minutes, the second-most on the team.
She placed six of her 12 shots on frame and helped anchor a back line that allowed just one multi-goal match from an opponent on the home pitch.
