Bell Finishes 2nd at Arkansas Qualifier

While she didn't improve her stock of being able to qualify for the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships, Murray State's 800M talent, Kayla Bell, took second place at the Arkansas Qualifier Friday evening.

In the competition at the Randal Tyson Track Center at Fayetteville, Ark., Bell posted a 2:03.02 for a spot in second place, just behind TCU's Tabitha Ngao who posted 2:01.71. Bell bested several runners from Power-5 teams.

However, Bell was looking for a time under the 2:02.99 program record she ran last weekend in Nashville that had her at No. 17 in NCAA D-I and one spot outside the top-16 designation required to qualify for the NCAA Indoors (March 14-15) in Virginia Beach, Va.

Bell, a senior from Lynville, Illinois, Bell joins her teammates at the MVC Indoor Championships (March 2-3) in Chicago, for a last try.
