Racers Take on Bears in Battle of Valley's Best

Murray State women's basketball takes on Missouri State in a battle between the top two teams in the MVC
Murray State women's basketball is set to battle Missouri State on Thursday at 6 p.m. at the CFSB Center in Murray, Kentucky. The Racers fell to the Bears 85-78 in Springfield, Mo. earlier in the season.
Katelyn Young was named a semifinalist for the Becky Hammon Mid-Major Player of the Year award and leads the MVC in scoring this season with 21.2 points while also averaging 6.5 rebounds. Young also recently became the highest ever Division I scorer in the state of Kentucky.Â
Four Racers all average 14 points or more per contest in Halli Poock, Haven Ford, Ava Learn, and Young. The Racers enter the contest at 18-7 on the season and are coming off of a win over Belmont on Sunday.
Scouting Report
Missouri State enters the game at 22-5 on the season and leads the Missouri Valley Conference at 14-2. The Bears defeated Drake 82-79 in overtime in their last time out. Lacy Stokes leads the Bears with 13.1 points per game.
