Murray State's four All-MVC players are the most in the league
Murray State women's basketball landed four players on the 2025 All Missouri Valley Conference teams with Katelyn Young, Ava Learn, Haven Ford, and Halli Poock all picking up the honors as announced by the league on Wednesday morning.Â
Young was named as a first team all-conference member for the fifth time in her career, twice in the Ohio Valley Conference and now three times in the MVC. With 2,946 career points, Young ranks 18th on the Division I all-time scoring list. This season, the Oakwood, Illinois native is averaging 21.9 points and 6.5 rebounds while shooting 55 percent from the field.
Learn was named the MVC's Most Improved Player and picked up All-MVC second team honors after averaging 14.0 points and 9.7 rebounds per contest, improving her totals by nearly three points and four rebounds per game. Last season, Learn was named to the MVC All-Newcomer team in her first year with MSU.
The sophomore duo of Poock and Ford each picked up All-MVC second team honors. After an all-conference season at Bradley a year ago, Poock averaged 16.7 points and 4.5 assists in her first season with MSU to rank in the top five in the MVC in both categories. After an MVC all-freshman campaign in her first collegiate season, Ford scored 15.3 points per game and dished out 5.3 assists per contest, good for second in the Valley.
The Racers will begin the MVC tournament on Friday at 12 p.m. and will play the winner of Bradley and Valparaiso at the Ford Center in Evansville, Indiana.
