Racers Take MVC Regular Season Crown

Murray State women's basketball was dominant in 109-70 win over Indiana State to secure MVC regular season title
Murray State women's basketball secured the program's first ever Missouri Valley Conference title as the Racers won 109-70 over Indiana State to end the regular season in Terre Haute, Indiana. The championship is the Racers first since 2009 and ties the most conference wins in program history with 16 wins in league play.Â
Katelyn Young once again led the Racers with 27 points, seven rebounds, and five assists in her final regular season game at Murray State. Young now has 2,946 career points, good for 18th all-time in Division I scoring.
Sophomore guard Haven Ford had a standout game scoring 17 points to go with 12 rebounds and five assists. Ava Learn put together 21 points and eight rebounds in the game as Halli Poock has 11 points and eight assists. Trinity White hit three of the Racers 10 three pointers in the matchup as 10 players scored in the game. Freshmen Jada Cook, Braxcynn Baker, Grace Billington, and Adalyn Koelling combined for 17 points. Briley Pena made two three point attempts and picked up seven points in the win.Â
MSU made a season high 43 field goal attempts and dished out 27 assists. The Racers now await their seeding for the MVC Tournament as Missouri State also finished the MVC season 16-4. Seeding between the two teams will be determined by NCAA Net Rankings following today's games.
