Murray State head men's basketball coach Ryan Miller announced the signing of 6-0 guard KJ Tenner who joins the Racers for the 2025-26 season as a sophomore.
Tenner, out of Memphis, Tennessee, played his freshman season of 2024-25 at West Virginia.
Â
"KJ has a remarkable combination of impressive ball handling, shooting and feel for the game," Miller said. "All of these attributes combined with his quickness at the point guard position is an important piece to our team. He has a tremendous future ahead of him as he joins our program and we're very happy that he's decided to be a Murray State Racer."
Â
As a freshman in 2024-25, Tenner appeared in 30 games for the Mountaineers and played 13.1 minutes per game with an average of 2.7 points per game. He had 32 assists and only 12 turnovers and made 24 steals.
Â
Tenner scored a season-high 10 points against Robert Morris on 4-of-5 from the field (2-of-2 3PT) with three assists.
Â
Coming out of Cordova High School, Tenner was named Tennessee Mr. Basketball in Class 4A as a senior in 2023-24 when he scored 21 points per game. He was honored as the Commercial Appeal Player of the Year.
