MSU's Wall Competes at NCAA Urbana Regional

The Murray State freshman is the first Racer to make it to the NCAA level since 2013
Murray State Trey Wall began play Monday in the first round of the NCAA D-I Men's Golf Urbana Regional at Atkins Golf Club in Urbana Illinois.

Playing perhaps the longest course he will ever play, Wall made five pars coming in to shoot a first round 78 (7-over-par) for a spot in 68th place in a field of 75 competitors.

The Atkins course plays 7,533 yards and features a par-4 hole on the front line that was 544 yards, and a par-3 on the back that was almost 250 yards.

Wall's first shot today at approximately 9:50 AM was historic as it was the first shot by a Murray State player in NCAA competition since Patrick Newcomb in 2013 when he played in Fayetteville as an individual.

Wall plays his second round Tuesday at 9:50 a.m. from the first tee.
