Three Racers Named to MVC Scholar-Athlete Teams

Lackey, Haislip, and Roby receive conference honors.
Three members of the Murray State softball team have been named to the Missouri Valley Conference Scholar-Athlete teams as announced by the league office in St Louis, Mo. on Wednesday.
In order to be eligible, student-athletes must have at 3.5 GPA or higher, be at least a sophomore in athletic and academic standing and meet certain playing requirements.
Senior outfielder Erin Lackey was the lone Racer selected to the first team. The Clarksville, Tenn. native featured a .252 batting average with 26 hits and 19 RBI while maintaining a 4.0 GPA as a graduate student. Lackey also appeared on the 2024 MVC Scholar-Athlete First Team.
Pitchers Bre Haislip and Raylee Roby were both named to the second team. Haislip finished the season with a 6-13 record across a team-high 121.1 innings pitched and led the team with 67 strikeouts. Roby had the best record among Murray State pitchers, going 6-3 across 27 appearances and 72.1 innings pitched.Â
