The Murray State Women’s Cross Country team competed well at the season opener in Cape Girardeau

The Murray State Women's Cross Country team posted a second place finish at the Redhawk Invitational, staged at the Osage Center and hosted by Southeast Missouri State in Cape Girardeau.

The runner up showing marks the Racers' best finish since winning the Western Kentucky Invite in 2023.

The Racers did it with three top-10 finishes including Molly Robertson in second place at 17:59, just behind the winner, Madilyn Moore of Missouri State.

The Racers also got a sixth place finish from Alyssa Moore (8:09) and a seventh place showing from Jocelyn Host (18:11), while it was a 14^th and 15^th place finish from Ruth Kimutai (18:35) and Liz Smith (18:35).

Next up for the Racers is the Oscar Moore Invitational (Sept. 19) at the Southern Illinois campus course.
