The Racers faced off with some of the top runners in the country, with several runners easily eclipsing their personal best times. Molly Robertson led the way for Murray State with a program record-breaking time of 21:07.7 in the 6K. Autumn Egleston (21:46.2), Abigail Crask (21:47.4), Morgan Bissonnette (22:39.5), Hannah Crain (22:57.0), and Emma Kendall (23:57.5) each set personal records for the Murray State women as well.
Dylan Ellis highlighted the men's effort with a personal-best time of 25:00.5. Gabe Russell (25:41.0), Noah Gray (25:51.8), Nick Schmitz (25:56.5), Jackson Lafser (26:20.5), and August Anderson (26:24.8) also set personal records for Murray State on the day.
"Today was a perfect opportunity to be very present and in the moment for the first half of the race," said coach Jordan Johnston. "We knew the field would go out fast, so they didn't need to put in a lot of mental energy and instead wait until the halfway point to attack the race. Most importantly, I saw that everyone was engaged and actively trying to make moves in the final 2 kilometers, which is something we have been working on. Overall, I couldn't ask for a better day out of these teams."
