Tynan Leads Racers to Tuesday Title Battle At The Velvet

THe Racers are five shots off the lead going into a Tuesday final at Paducah Country Club
The Murray State women's golf team carded scores of 304-299=603, to grab a spot in third place after 36 holes of the 2025 The Velvet.
The final 18 holes is Tuesday morning at the Country Club of Paducah in Paducah, Kentucky.
The event marks the third playing of The Velvet, named in honor of Murray State 2024 Hall of Fame selection, Coach Velvet Milkman, who launched MSU women's golf in 1993 and served as head coach for 29 seasons until her retirement in 2022.
The Racers are chasing second place Troy (600) and first place UNC Asheville (598).
Murray State's Elin Tynan has the low score of the day for the Racers on rounds of 75-73=148 and was just two shots behind the leader, Pennie Osterberg of UNCA at 146. The Racers had three players in the top-10 with Patti Patterson in sixth place and Tina Von Arx in eighth.
