Racers Roll in Final Roadtrip

MSU Returns Saturday for NCAA Qualifier
The Murray State Racers fired scores of 2351 and 2379 for an aggregate of 4730 to defeat the Jacksonville State Gamecocks on Saturday morning in Jacksonville, Alabama. Â
Sophomore Carlotta Salafia was the top individual performer in all categories with a personal record of 592 in smallbore, a 599 in air rifle, and an aggregate of 1191, another personal record. Caroline Martin has stayed hot in recent matches, this time placing second individually with her 1186 aggregate and matching her personal record with a 598 in air rifle for second place in that category. Â
Lea Soulé claimed fourth individually with an aggregate of 1178 after shooting a 589 in both categories. The reigning Ohio Valley Conference Smallbore Athlete of the Year and Freshman of the Year also placed third in smallbore. Â
Emma Lawrence posted scores of 587 in smallbore and 590 in air rifle for an 1177 aggregate to place fifth individually. Abby Ballard took seventh with a 1174 aggregate, firing a 582 in smallbore and 592 in air rifle, and Mallory Johnson took ninth with her 1164 aggregate after firing a 580 in smallbore and 584 in air rifle. Â
