Rifle Looks to Capture Sixth Straight OVC Crown

Murray State to Compete in OVC Championship Following Historic Win Over Memphis
Murray State Rifle will compete in the 2026 Ohio Valley Conference Rifle Championships in Martin, Tennessee, from February 7-8.
The Racers are coming off a Wednesday match at home against Memphis that saw them tally a 4737, the second-highest aggregate in program history.
Several Racers had career days as Caroline Martin, Emma Lawrence, Mallory Johnson, and Carlotta Salafia all broke or tied personal records. Martin set new personal records in aggregate and smallbore, and tied her record in air rifle, scoring 590 in smallbore and 597 in air rifle for an aggregate of 1187, good for second overall, with finishes of fourth in smallbore and second in air rifle. Lawrence set a new personal record with a 596 in air rifle, Johnson set a personal record with her 587 in smallbore, and Salafia placed first individually, tying her personal record with an 1189 aggregate and again tying her personal record with a 599 in air rifle, to claim first place, and a 590 in smallbore to claim third. Â
The Racers feature the tenth-best average aggregate in the nation at 4711.0, with averages of 2338.8 in smallbore and 2372.2 in air rifle. The Navy & Gold check in at 11th in the CRCA poll.Â

The Racers are seeking their sixth consecutive OVC title and 20th all-time. Â
