Racers Fall to Lions in Saturday Morning Contest

Murray State loses to Lindenwood 11-2.
The Murray State Racers (1-2) fell to the Lindenwood Lions (2-1) 11-2 on Saturday morning at the Barbara Williams Softball Complex in Montgomery, Alabama.
The Racers got on the board first with a first-inning RBI single up the middle from Ava Ozment. However, Lindenwood held a commanding 9-1 lead by the end of the inning. They tacked on two more in the third to move ahead 11-1.
Courtney Sandy added a run for Murray State in the fourth on a play that saw Bailey Broemmer reach first on an error, allowing Sandy to score and make the final 11-2.
Karlye Graber (0-1) got the loss in the circle after getting the start and allowing four earned runs in the opening inning. Emily Siurek pitched the final three and one third innings, picking up two strikeouts and allowing just two earned runs.
The Racers will finish the Stinger Classic schedule with a pair of Sunday games. They will open the day at 9 a.m. CT against Southern Indiana and then face the host Alabama State Hornets (1-1) at 11:14 a.m. CT.
