MURRAY, Ky. - Nic Schutte has been named to the 2026 National Pitcher of the Year Watchlist by the College Baseball Hall of Fame, the organization announced Wednesday.
Schutte has enjoyed a dominant start to the 2026 campaign, posting a 3-1 record through four starts. In 22.0 innings pitched, Schutte has struck out 21 batters, a mark that ranks third in the Missouri Valley Conference. He currently maintains a 3.68 ERA.
The national recognition adds to a growing list of honors for Schutte, who was also selected as the MVC Preseason Pitcher of the Year prior to the start of the season.
His standout performance of the year to date came against Butler, where he tossed seven scoreless innings, allowing just two hits while punching out nine.
Schutte and the Racers return to action this weekend as they travel to St. Charles, Mo., for a three-game series against Lindenwood beginning Friday.
