Deremer Shines in Career-Best Outing as Racers Fall on Walk-Off Grand Slam

ST. CHARLES, Mo. - Eight innings of shutout pitching were not enough for Murray State to come out with the win after a walk-off grand slam from Lindenwood (10-10) gave the Lions the series victory.
Drew Deremer started the game for the Racers, tossing the strongest game of his career. He threw 6 1/3 innings of shutout pitching, a career high, while allowing just two hits and striking out two.
The Murray State (12-8) offense recorded seven hits but was unable to drive any runs across. Daylan Pena started the second inning with a double down the right-field line, claiming the only Racer extra-base hit of the day.
Conner Cunningham was the only MSU batter to record a multi-hit game, hitting two singles on the day.
The Racers will look to bounce back as they return to Murfreesboro to take on Middle Tennessee in the second midweek meeting between the two programs this season.
