Murray State closed the Blue Raider Bash with a four-set loss to host Middle Tennessee State on Saturday at Alumni Memorial Gym.

Despite a late rally that saw Murray State (1-8) take the third set, 26-24, the Blue Raiders (6-3) answered with a 25-17 win in the fourth to close the match.

The Racers jumped out to a 12-9 lead in the opening set behind two kills from Lily Evans. Middle Tennessee responded with a 5-0 run to take control before winning the set, 25-18. Evans finished the match with five kills and hit a team-high .357.

Murray State then battled back from a four-point deficit late in the second set, using a 4-0 run to tie the score at 21. An Anne Makowski kill brought the Racers within one at 24-23, but the Blue Raiders secured the following point to take a two-set lead.

The third set featured 15 ties and eight lead changes as neither team led by more than three points. Murray State trailed 24-23 before Makowski tied the set with a kill, and Alexa Watts followed with another to give the Racers the lead. The Navy and Gold completed the comeback on the following rally to win, 26-24.

Mija Sagadin Pristovnik helped fuel the third-set victory with all three of her career-high service aces. She also set a career high with 15 digs while adding four kills.

Middle Tennessee opened the fourth set with three straight points and maintained the lead on its way to a 25-17 win.

Makowski led Murray State with a career-high 19 kills while hitting .302. Watts added 10 kills and four blocks, while Maezi Snyder finished with eight kills and four blocks. Kathryn Titus and Paige Brock combined for 37 assists.
