Austin Long enters his first season as a Volunteer Assistant with the Murray State baseball staff.
Prior to Murray State, Long was the head baseball coach at the Community College of Allegheny County in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania from 2018-2021. While at CCAC, Long led the Wildcats to 2018 and 2019 Western Pennsylvania Collegiate Conference titles while they also led the league in ERA and Batting Average in 2019. He was named 2018 and 2019 Western Pennsylvania Collegiate Conference Coach of the Year. During his tenure with the Wildcats, over two-dozen players went on to sign with a four-year school.
A native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Long graduated from La Roche University in 2011 where he was a member of the baseball team for two seasons. Prior to playing at La Roche, Long was a member of the Waynesburg University baseball team for two seasons.
Long holds a full-time position as a Career Services Advisor at South University. He and his wife Kayla reside in Murray, Ky. with their two dogs Ace and Mickey.
