Bill Graham – Golf, 1961-1963
Graham was twice medalist in Ohio Valley Conference tournaments. He won the 1962 OVC medal with a score of 143 and the ’63 medal with a 146. He was named OVC “golfer of the Year” both seasons. In his first OVC tournament in 1961, he placed fifth among all individuals with a score of 146. The Murray team placed second in the ’61 and ’63 OVC tournaments and third in 1962.
Graham was a fine putter, perhaps the longest hitter ever to play for Murray, and one of the most consistent winners in dual matches in Murray’s golf history.
Graham lived in Murray when he attended Murray State. He went into the Army following graduation; his military service included a tour of duty in Vietnam. He is now a Civil Service safety engineer in Milton, Fla. (Murray State Alumnus, May 1972)
