Proctor, a 1990 graduate and a native of Sylvester, Ga., majored in safety engineering and health and was a four-year starter at quarterback for Murray State. He is also one of only two football players in Murray State football history to have his number, 11, retired.
Proctor was an All-OVC selection in 1988 and 1989 and was chosen as the OVC Offensive Player of the Year in 1989. He passed for a Murray State career record of 8,632 yards and is the Murray Sate and OVC career total-yardage leader with 9,886.
Proctor, nicknamed “The General” during his Murray State career, owns a total of eight Murray State offensive records and three OVC offensive records. (The Murray State News, October 20, 2000, Staff Report)
Was a starting quarterback for the Montreal Machine in the World League of American Football’s inaugural season in 1991.
