Tommy Glover – Football, 1962-1964 (Deceased)
Glover, from Henderson, Ky., was a record-setting fullback at MSU; Tanner, from Starke, Fla., was a record-setting split end who initially played for Murray State as a defensive back. Both were all-conference selections, Glover in 1962 and 1964 and Tanner in 1967.
Glover twice led the Ohio Valley Conference in rushing, netting 599 yards on 138 carries in ’62 and gaining a school record 697 yards on 145 carries in ’64. His 1,769 career rushing yards and 412 caries were MSU records. Coming out of high school, he attended the University of Alabama on a football scholarship before transferring to Murray State.
