The Murray State women's soccer team snapped a four-game skid Friday when they topped Jacksonville State, 1-0, at JSU Soccer Field in Jacksonville.
The game-winner came in the 80th minute for the Racers (5-10-1, 2-7 OVC) when Julie Mooney's shot was blocked by Gamecock goalkeeper Cade Eden. Bronagh Kerins then gathered up the rebound and buried it in the back of the net for the eventual game winner.
JSU took 16 total shots in the match and placed eight on goal, while Murray State took 15 and put two on target. Eden took the loss in goal for the Gamecocks (4-12-2, 0-8-1 OVC) by saving just one of two shots on goal, while MSU's Savannah Haberman saved eight shots and tallied her fourth solo shutout of the season.
The Racers now have eight days off before returning to action in their season finale. Murray State will play host to Jacksonville State Sunday at Cutchin Field for Senior Day. Game time is scheduled for 1 p.m.
