Racers CLaim Fifth in Ocala

RESULTS
The third and final round of the MSU Ocala Spring Invitational wrapped up this morning with the Murray State women's golf team finished the tournament in fifth place in the field of 16 teams.
The Racers claimed the fifth place sport with scores of 305-298-308=911 to finish 22 strokes behind tournament champion Daytona State (889). Houston Baptist took second with a team score of 895 while North Florida placed third with an overall team score of 902.
Delaney Howson and Sydney Trimble led the Racers tied for 14th place with scores of 80-71-74=225 and 73-76-76=225 respectively. Sophie Hillier tied for 25th place after firing rounds of 77-75-78=230 while Jacklyn Van Meter carded scores of 75-76-80=231 for 32nd place. Freshman Minta Yin rounded out team play for the Racers in 81st place with scores of 84-82-82=248.
In individual play, Abbi Stamper fired rounds of 80-76-80=236 for 49th place and Gina Nuzzo had scores of 79-88-79=246 for 76th place.
Other team scores include: Toledo (905), Florida Gulf Coast (912), Eastern Kentucky (916), Morehead State (917), Stetson (917), Ohio (920), McNeese State (926), Northern Illinois (939), Akron (943), Western Kentucky (956), Austin Peay State (959) and Nebraska-Omaha (1004).
The Juliette Falls Golf Resort played to a par of 72 and 6,113 yards.
The Racers will enjoy a short break before returning to action at the Ole Miss Rebel Invitational in Oxford, Miss., at the Ole Miss Golf Course(April 4-6).
