The Racers recorded the first 10-0 OVC Conference record this season and look to keep the nine game winning streak alive in the OVC Tournament. Coming into the match, Murray State's Taylor Richerson holds the title of adidas® OVC Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for her goal and assist in Murray States 2-1 victory over Austin Peay.
Friday will be the twentieth matchup between the Eagles and Racers. In their match from earlier this season, Harriet Withers and Taylor Stevens each had a goal in the 2-0 victory. Morehead State came into the OVC tournament as the five seed. The Eagles defeated the four seed UT Martin 4-2 to advance in the tournament. Kimberly Golden, Taylor Stivers, Dani Wilson, and Teig Palmateer scored the four goals in the contest. Kaitlyn Murphy had 12 saves in the contest.
The winner of this match will either play Tennessee Tech or Southeast Missouri pending the results of that match. The championship game will occur Sunday at 1 p.m. at Cutchin Field. The winner will receive an automatic bid in the NCAA tournament.
