The Murray State women's tennis squad battled the Memphis Tigers Friday at the University Club in Memphis, Tenn.

The Racers dropped a 6-1 defeat to the No. 58 ranked Tigers.

MSU's match win came at the No. 6 singles slot when Racer sophomore Vergninie Tchakarova defeated Memphis' Tara McElroy.

MSU is 4-2 and will be back in action next weekend at the Kenlake Tennis Center when they host Western Kentucky (Feb. 14) and Southern Illinois (Feb. 15).
