Racers Head to ITA Ohio Valley Regional

MURRAY, Ky. - Murray State women's tennis opens the ITA Ohio Valley Regional Championships this week in Cincinnati, Ohio, the deepest event on the Racers' fall schedule and the only one with NCAA Championship implications.

The Racers arrive off their best weekend of the fall. Murray State won three of the top four singles flights at the Redbird Invitational, with senior Valeria Chaikovskaia taking Flight 1, junior Yu Kikawa Flight 3 and senior Aada Inna Flight 4, while senior Varvara Alexeyeva finished runner-up at Flight 2.

Racers to Watch

Valeria Chaikovskaia - Reclaimed her Flight 1 title at Illinois State by beating the No. 2 and No. 1 seeds, and qualified for the ITA Conference Masters, Nov. 5-8 in Rome, Georgia.
Aada Inna - Has not lost a singles match in a Murray State uniform, a seven-match run across both fall events.
Yu Kikawa - Moved up from Flight 5 a season ago to Flight 3 this fall.
Varvara Alexeyeva - Came through a three-set semifinal at Illinois State before falling in the Flight 2 final.
