Head coach Jenny Swieton was proud of her team's effort in the conference championship. "We asked them to give everything they had," said Swieton. "I truly believe we did that. We had so much great young talent and [we] had so many girls score for the first time. I know there are very big things in our future."
In regards to Lawrence and Korir's gold medal performances, Swieton couldn't be more proud. "Tamdra has achieved so much as a freshman, the sky is the limit for her. Vallery will be competing in the first round of NCAA Championship [for the 10k] in two weeks and it will be exciting to see what happens."
Though the team's season is over, the chances of a Racer making to the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championship is still alive. Korir will compete in her third career 10,000 meters at the NCAA East Preliminaries in Jacksonville, Florida on May 26 for a chance to move on to the NCAA Finals in Eugene, Ore.
