MSU begins the week with a pair of midweek games. The Racers are 2-0 so far this season in true road games and are 1-2 at Reagan Field. The Racers opened their home slate this past weekend against Buffalo losing 2-of-3.
Inside the Matchups
This will be the second meeting ever with both the Delta Devils and the Thorobreds. MSU won both the previous meetings against the other two schools. The Racers defeated MVSU 7-0 in 2009 and KSU 18-5 last season.
Scouting Mississippi Valley State
Jackson Webb leads the Delta Devils in most offensive categories as he leads the team with a .391 batting average, five runs, three doubles, two home runs, eight RBIs and two stolen bases. Caleb Lindsey and Arrington Smith on second on the squad with three RBI each. Smith also leads MVSU with a 2.57 ERA and has the Delta Devils' lone win this season.
Scouting Kentucky State
Artie Santomo leads the Thorobreds with a .382 average so far in 2017. Santomo also leads the team with 19 runs scored and is second with 14 RBIs. Jay Pullard leads KSU with 18 ribbies on the year while Brandon Story leads the team with seven extra-base hits. Elijah Collins is a perfect 6-of-6 on stolen base attempts to lead the squad.
Josh Dunn leads KSU with two victories on the year and is second with a 4.70 ERA. Connor Kelley has a team-best 2.76 ERA and has one of five complete games by the Thorobreds. Matthew Oxford and Joshua Owsley both lead the team with five appearances each.

The Racers will be at Reagan Field for the second weekend in a row as Siena comes to town for a three-game series beginning Saturday at noon.
