The Game
The Murray State women's basketball team will come home in hopes of extending its current win streak to five games Saturday when it hosts Indiana State at 5 p.m. at the CEFSB Center.
Last Time Out
Down four with 43 seconds left to play, the Racers scored twice in 31 seconds, including a layup by Macey Turley with 2.2 seconds, remaining to top Evansville on the road, 61-59, at the Meeks Family Fieldhouse in Evansville, Indiana.
The Racers came out of the gates hot, opening the game on a 10-2 run and leading by as many as 14 in the first stanza. However, in the second quarter the Purple Aces used a 14-5 run of their own whittle the lead down to two, before eventually trailing by four at the break. Murray State kept Evansville at bay in the third, until the Aces finally took their first lead since 2-0 with 4:29 to go in the contest. Murray State tied the game at 59, with 31 seconds to go, after Macie Gibson pulled down an offensive board off a Racer miss and put it back to tie the game for the third time in the final quarter.
With Evansville in possession of the ball and the clock dwindling, Alexis Burpo forced a turnover and took the ball down the court, eventually finding Turley who made the go-ahead layup with 2.2 seconds left. The Aces gave it a final heave after the MSU basket, but it was off-target as Murray State held on to pick up its fifth win in six games.
Turley finished the game with 19 points, six rebounds, six assists and six steals, while Lex Mayes had 10 points and Burpo had eight points and a game-high 10 boards.
The Indiana State Series
Saturday will be the fourth all-time meeting between the two teams and the first in over 30 years. The Racers have won all three previous meetings in the series, including a win in Murray in 1986, a win in Terre Haute in 1985 and the first-ever meeting in Martin, Tennessee in 1980.

A Trip Through The Valley
Starting with Tuesday's game at Evansville, the Racers will play three straight games against teams from the Missouri Valley Conference including Indiana State Saturday and Southern Illinois next Sunday. The win over the Aces moves the Racers record over MVC teams all-time to 32-58.
You Just Made the List
Macey Turley's miss on her last free throw Tuesday put an end to a 28 consecutive free throw streak, marking the fifth longest streak in school history.
