Women's Tennis Fall 4-3 to Redhawks

Murray State Tennis falls 4-3 to SEMO in a hard-fought battle, Sunday.

The Racers' Sarah Bureau/Emma Honore doubles pair were the first to complete their doubles match. They won their match 6-1. Following this dominating performance, the Racers' Annika Pschorr/Natalie Slezakova clinched the Racers the doubles point with a score of 6-4.

Entering into singles play, Natalie Slezakova won in straight sets against her opponent Cosima Calinescu 6-1, 6-4 earning the Racers their second point. Paola Campigotto also won her singles match in three sets 6-4, 4-6, 10-6, however, it wasn't enough to seal the win. SEMO won the match by winning four singles points from Daniela Hlacikova, Romana Tarajova, Ksenia Shikanova and Teona Velkoska.

"I am proud of this group and the toughness they showed this weekend overall and especially this match against SEMO. We faced a lot of adversities and put ourselves in the position to beat them, but unfortunately fell a little short," said head coach Jorge Caetano.

"We definitely got better this weekend and I am happy with the way we are competing on all courts in singles and doubles, so now we have to shift our attention to our first road match against a strong WKU team on Friday."
