Racers Fall in Popeye’s Battle of the Border

Murray State baseball fell to Austin Peay 10-3 in Wednesday Tilt
Murray State baseball dropped its game with Austin Peay 10-3 on Wednesday afternoon at Johnny Reagan Field to end a five-game win streak. Taylor Howell led the charge for MSU blasting a solo home run in the contest for his fourth of the year.
After falling behind early in the contest, the Racers made a late push thanks to RBI singles in the eighth inning from Riley Hawthorne and Drew Vogel to score Jacob Pennington and Ethan Krizen.
Cade Vernon, Preston Chaudoin, and Joe Peca combined for three scoreless, hitless innings in relief to close out the game for the Racers.
The Racers will now turn their attention to their debut in the Missouri Valley Conference when they host Bradley to start their inaugural campaign this weekend.
