Murray State track and field kick off weekend at Kentucky with five event champions.
Murray State track and field closes day one at Kentucky with five event winners and three program-top-10 performances Friday.
Alexis Meloche kicks the day off in javelin. She won the event with a 40.11m mark, 2m away from her personal record.
Meghan Fletcher followed suit by winning the high jump with a 1.71m mark before Rachel Hagans made it three in a row with a 6.45m high jump performance. Jenna Pauly finished runner-up in the high jump with a new personal record of 6.00m mark, joining the 6-meter and moving up to seventh all-time in the program top-10 list.
Amyah Davis placed third in the 400m hurdles with a time of 1:01.40, third all-time in the program top-10 list before Teliyah James clocked the fourth fastest 200m dash time by Racer with 23.62 to place third in the event.
Kayla Bell adds another win for the Racers in the 800m (2:06.37), and Allison Wood puts the cherry on top by winning the 3000m steeplechase (11.59.02).
"Todays results are what we are looking for from a competition perspective," said head coach Adam Kiesler.
"With five event wins against some very good competition means we are almost done putting the puzzle together for the conference championships."
This meet will be the Racers' final tune-up before heading to the conference championships on May 12. They look to build momentum and tighten up loose screws.
"We talk about energy and getting it started so the rest of the team can feed off of it," said Kiesler.
"That was done today, and it is now the job of those competing tomorrow to use it and finish a great weekend."
Day two will start with the pole vault at 11:30 a.m. Eastern Time Saturday.
